The industry doesn’t make wallpaper estimating easy.

If your chosen wallpaper has a pattern repeat, the size of that repeat affects how many rolls you’ll need. If it doesn’t – like for grasscloth or linen-look wallcoverings – then you’ll need to take the placement of your seams into account. And if yours is a wallpaper mural, it’s critical to make sure the dimensions of your wall will fit it, without extra inches at the top or sides that would ruin the look.

Not to mention all the ways in which wallpaper is packaged! Wallpaper comes in rolls of various lengths and widths (American rolls and Euro rolls, for example), and sometimes not even in rolls at all but in “yards”, often with a minimum yardage order required by the manufacturer.
